Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE the Bible is the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and contains every answer to man's problems. 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21

WE BELIEVE there is one God, existing eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. John 10:30; John 14:26; Philippians 2:5-7

WE BELIEVE God is Love and He loves all people. It is His desire to reach out to those who are poor, oppressed, widowed or orphaned, and to heal the brokenhearted. Psalm 68:5,6; 1 John 4:16

WE BELIEVE Man is created in the image of God but separated from God by sin. Without Jesus we cannot have a relationship with God. Genesis 1:26; 1 Timothy 2:5

WE BELIEVE we can have a personal relationship with God through salvation, God's free gift to man. It is not a result of what we do, but it is only available through God's unearned favor. By admitting we have sinned and believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, and accepting Him as Lord, we can spend eternity with God. Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 5:1; Romans 3:24

WE BELIEVE in water baptism, as taught and demonstrated by Jesus, as the way for believers to identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Matthew 3:13-17    1 John 5: 7-8
WE BELIEVE the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God. He helps empower the believer to develop the character of Christ and live every day in God's will. Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:4

WE BELIEVE God gives all believers spiritual gifts. They are for the strengthening of God's people (the Church) and proof of God's existence and power to unbelievers. The gifts of the Spirit are active and relevant today. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 1 Peter 4:10

WE BELIEVE Sanctification is the ongoing process of allowing God's character to be developed in us. Romans 6:19; Galatians 5:22-25

WE BELIEVE divine healing is active in the lives of people today through Jesus, who is the Healer. Healing includes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual restoration. Luke 9:11; Matthew 9:35; Acts 10:38; Matthew 10:1

WE BELIEVE the Bible describes hell as a real place. It is a place of suffering and a place of permanent separation from God for those who die without accepting Christ. God's desire is that no one be separated from Him for eternity, which is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth.  WE BELIEVE in the power and personality of Satan, his wrath against the church, and his ultimate destruction in the lake of fire (Hebrews 2:14, 1Peter 5:8, Revelation 20:10) Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:12-15; John 3:16-18
WE BELIEVE Jesus will return and take all those who have accepted Him as Savior to heaven for eternity. Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Hebrews 9:28

WE BELIEVE in the church of Jesus Christ, the body of Christ is made up of all who have trusted in Christ for their salvation. We believe the church was wrought and planned by God the Father before the foundations of the earth. It was bought and paid for by God the Son through His substitution death on the Cross, and it continues to be protected and instructed by God the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the Body and only those who exist within the Body of Christ will rule and reign with Him in His eternal Kingdom. (Hebrews 10:24-25, Romans 1:16, Ephesians 1:1-14).

WE BELIEVE that men can be saved by, and only by the grace of God through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). A person is saved through faith in the completed work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary where the blood of Christ is offered in payment of the transgressions of the sinner before the Father.

WE BELIEVE God “is patient, not wanting any to perish but everyone to come to repentance.”
(2 Peter 3:9)
We believe that every believer in Christ is the “temple of the Holy Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 6:19)

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6)

WE BELEIVE that “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by whom we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 ) WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of all; the saved to eternal life; the lost to everlasting punishment (1 Corinthians 15:20-22, 1 Corinthians 15:52, 1Thessalonians 4:16-17, Rev.20:13-15, Ephesians 2:8-9).

WE BELIEVE “if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”
(1 John 1:8)

WE BELIEVE “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

WE BELIEVE that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” and can fully redeem and powerfully use even those who consider they have been “the worst.” (1 Timothy 1:15)

WE BELIEVE we have been “baptized by one Spirit into one body” (1Corinthians 12:13) and recognize the value and equality of all members of the body of Christ. We are “all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:29) We actively support the unity of all believers eclipsing all denominational, economic, or ethnic diversities.

WE BELIEVE that “our citizenship is in heaven and we eagerly await a Savior from there the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so they will be like His glorious body.” (Philippians 3:21) “And so shall we forever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth, sinless life, vicarious and atoning death on the cross; in the power of His shed blood to forgive sins, in His bodily resurrection from the dead, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father where He presently is seated making intercession for the saints. We believe in His personal return to judge the earth in righteousness and establishment of His eternal rule over a new heaven and a new earth. (John 1:1-3, John 3:16, 1 Peter 1:2, Acts 4:33, Acts 1:9-11, I Thessalonians 4:15-18)

WE BELIEVE that the family is the most basic of all human institutions and must be preserved. We believe that the head of the household, the husband and father is appointed by God as provider, protector, and priest in the home. In the absence of a husband or father in the home, the elders of the church are responsible to help provide, protect and insure spiritual covering for any woman who so desires. The father is to provide a safe home for his wife and children, insuring that their needs are met physically, emotionally and spiritually. (Ephesians 5:22-31)

WE BELIEVE that the primary responsibility for the instruction of children lies with the parents who can allow no institution to supersede the responsibility of parents as guardians of the children (Ephesians 6:4, Galatians 4:2). The parents are commanded by God to oversee the education and instruction of their children and to insure that their instruction is of a quality that will prepare them to be successful and productive, all the while maintaining instruction in righteousness, insuring that the faith in Jesus Christ which we hold is perpetuated through each generation. (Exodus 18:20, Leviticus 10:11, Deuteronomy 6:7, 11:19, Psalm 132:12, Ezekiel 44:23).
